2007 Remodeling Cost vs. Value Report for the San Francsico region
In the category of mid-range quality improvements, minor kitchen remodels remains on the list of those projects that would recoup more than their cost (103.5%) vs. a major upscale kitchen remodel, which would recoup only 88.9%. Interestingly, this year a wood deck addition was estimated to recoup 108% of its cost. In both midrange and upscale projects, wood window replacements were ranked as those that would recoup all of their costs. In addition, they would provide additional energy savings, as well as greater comfort and quiet to the homeowner.
